Lake District Pubs

Blue , Blue My World is Blue

Indigo Blue at the moment. (stolen from Yocchan again)
Hello to everyone in Tokushima and Indigo Socks supporters everywhere.
I do hope you are well and have recovered from a poor season for the Socks.
I could only get to Tokushima two times but I was made very welcome by the people there. It seems there will be some major upheavals in the teams in the next few weeks in the Island League. Some players will be axed and some players will move on. I am sure they owe alot to the supporters and the kindness of the people of Shikoku, but they do not get enough money to live on.
Incentive money?
It's like giving a dog a treat if it does a trick. Compare the body size of a NPB player compared to an Island League player? Why are they so well built? One answer..They eat better. Someone complained about the lack of home runs in the Island League... Common sense ,isn't it? Pay them a decent wage and you'll get better baseball.Bigger guys hit harder!
I'm also worried about what is happening behind the scenes Maybe someone should look at what's happening in the office.
What happened to the volunteer staff? Will they be back next year?
Anyway, whatever happens I wish all the best to Indigo Socks next season with or without Yoshiki.

Things go better with coke

Naruto and The Indigo Socks

Hadrian's Wall

A wall that was built across England that was built by the Romans 2000 years ago to keep the invading Picts out. The wall was much higher in those days. Many of the people living nearby took the stone from the walls for their own walls and houses. Now it is protected. The place in this scene was used in the movie Robin Hood starring Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman.

Yoshiki is back

Yoshiki is spending the weekend in Odawara. He wanted to talk about his future baseball plans.
He still has not decided what to do next season or where he will play.
He went to party for Indigo Socks last night. Evidently, Ono San was not invited!! Who is making the decisions in the team I wonder??? What happened to all those kind volunteers that went to the games to help out? Will they be back next season?
One point is that some players are making far more money than others in the league.Ehime get more than Tokushima. Other players are still being helped financially by their parents.

Lost To The Saints

I guess the new head coach has his new plans for the team next year.
He didn't start with Yoshiki or Daijiro. I have no idea why not .
Yoshiki stole base twice during the game after he came on late on. Was there any point in it?
Yes, I think the fans wanted to see their team do something in a game like this.
There is another game tomorrow. I do hope we can beat their winning streak and show them
that the Island League is a cut above the other club teams the Saints have played.

Field Of Dreams

In the movie starring Kevin Costner, a voice keeps telling him. 'Build it and they will come!' So he makes a baseball field in his cornfield.
I'd just like to say, "Pay him and he will stay."

SCOTTY ASKING FOR HIS DINNER TODAY

St Pauls Saints of Minnesota

On their website it said they would play six games. 4 against club teams including Golden Goals, but the best team they would play would be Indigo Socks and the Island League combined team.
The site said they had heard there were players of 3A level or higher in the Island League.
MAJOR LEAGUE LEVEL!!!!!! Let's beat them!!!!
Their address is saintsbaseball.com

Streamers!!!!! And Streamer Fishing!

Thanks to everyone who came up and spoke to me yesterday. It seems there was an 'uchiage' for the team, so I had to wait at Matsushige for 3 hours for the bus back. I dropped in to the tonkatsu restaurant. The waitress was very kind and could speak English quite well!! The manager of the shop couldn't understand my Japanese!!
